Putting Away Groceries

Here is a fun life skills lesson on putting away groceries. I have this lesson in a cut & paste worksheet already but since Velcro is my new best friend and any cut & paste worksheet can easily be adapted into a Velcro book, here you go! There are 33 food pieces and three options of were you can put them, 12 pantry, 9 freezer, and 12 refrigerator. I used clear Velcro, cause it's my favorite! I am giving this away for free in my store to anyone who promises to comment on my blog at least once in the next year. No pressure, lol. Here is the link to pick up a copy for our kidoes. I would love to hear how they liked it.

  1. I love this simple activity. We will be shopping once a week for our cooking day, and this would be a great way to reinforce our real life experience. Thanks for this freebie!

  4. I love this! Thank you! I am a mom of multiple kids with disabilities. I have a 12 year old who is nonverbal and a non reader. It is hard finding age appropriate things at his developmental level. This is perfect for him because he likes food :)
I am going to make 2 copies and use one for him to practice on and also post one copy on the fridge, cupboard... So he can use it to help with real groceries.

  9. I was contemplating developing something like this. You just saved me tons of time! Now if only I had little elves who would put all the velcro on! BTW, this gives me other ideas for similar life skill sorting tasks but I will check back to see if you've already done it!

  12. I love this activity! I am an Occupational Therapist who works with the geriatric population. This will be a great activity to use with my patients that exhibit mild to moderate cognitive decline. It will be a purposeful and meaningful activity that will allow them to sort, categorize, and problem solve. Thank you for the free download!! :)

  22. So how do you give them that compelling reason? By treating this question as an opportunity for your sales pitch. By thinking about what it is that the interviewer wants in a candidate and what it is that they need to hear.
